The Cost of Braces vs. The Cost of Invisalign
Here at WildSmiles, we treat patients with both traditional metal braces and the Invisalign system. Which works best for you depends on your particular situation, as some people just aren’t good candidates for clear aligners. That said, we try our best to use clear aligner therapy if that’s what you want. Sometimes, we use a combination of both metal braces and clear aligners to treat our patients. So, now that you know both teeth straightening methods are available to you in our office, let’s get down to business. What is the cost of braces versus the cost of Invisalign?
Cost of Braces
The cost of braces hasn’t changed much over the years. What has changed is your options. Traditional metal braces are still used, but if you’re looking for something as effective but less noticeable, clear ceramic braces are also an option. The price you pay for braces treatment usually includes the materials used as well as the monthly visits required to maintain the appliance.
The Cost of Invisalign
Invisalign is the brand name of a clear aligner therapy system. While there are other clear aligners on the market, Invisalign is the brand we have the most experience with. It also corners the market in technology, making it the best choice for aligner therapy in our book. The Invisalign System, like other brand names, is a little pricier than other clar aligners might be, but you’re paying for a brand name known for quality. You’re also paying more for the aesthetics afforded by clear aligner therapy. Like braces, the cost for Invisalign includes everything you’ll need to achieve the smile you desire.
Insurance for Braces and Invisalign
If you have dental insurance, you probably have orthodontic insurance as well. Orthodontic insurance covers braces and aligner therapy alike, but it’s a lifetime policy rather than one that renews year after year. This means you can only use it once in your lifetime to get braces or Invisalign, and you’ll likely pay a portion of the cost out of your own pocket since orthodontic insurance rarely covers 100 percent.
The cost of braces and the Cost of Invisalign sound expensive, but with your insurance and other payment management options, most people find it easy to afford their orthodontic treatment.
